VIdeo Transitions - Why you should care
Video Transitions? ✂
This post-production technique can be a creative way improve your videos, enhancing and complementing the story.
What is it?
Transitions are a post-production technique used in film or video editing to connect one shot to another.
Most commonly this is through a normal cut to the next shot.
Most films will also include a selective use of special transitions, usually to convey a tone or mood, suggest the passage of time, or separate parts of the story. Think about dissolves, fades, match cuts, and wipes.
With time and with the advances in the technology of post-production, it became very trendy to use special transitions. Mainly as a way to keep the projects engaging and stylish.
In this way some videos simply became a collection of fancy transitions. The technique not serving the story anymore.
